Support for Habitat for Humanity Continues with Three-Year Commitment
We are a proud supporter of the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity organization through both monetary donations and service hours. In 2018, we made a three-year commitment to the nonprofit organization, donating annually from 2018-2020.
In 2019, our employees have volunteered more than 240 hours through home rehabilitation and participating in the Habitat for Humanity 5K & 1 Mile Walk/Run/Mosey for Homes at Edgewater Park in Cleveland. At the 5K and 1 mile walk, we had 25 participants who raised $1,300 on top of our sponsorship.
The home rehabilitation project involved six on-site working days with eight First Federal Lakewood employees at each working day. The home is located in Cleveland’s Clark-Fulton neighborhood. There will be a dedication ceremony once the house is complete and ready to be turned over to its new homeowners.
Last year’s grant money helped Cleveland Habitat wrap-up its 100 Homes for Cleveland Initiative
, while this year’s grant has helped Cleveland Habitat continue its affordable homeownership program. Between 2018 and 2019, Cleveland Habitat will have connected more than 40 families to fully-rehabbed homes and assist as many as 200 residents with minor exterior repairs.
We’re proud to be a community partner of Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity and look forward to continuing to make a difference in the community.
